Shape from Shading, 3D Shape Reconstruction and Understading from Sequential Images (image processing, computer vision, shape reconstruction) (陰影からの形状復元に関する研究:イメージスキャナによって撮影された書籍表面の画像を用いて,その陰影情報から書籍表面の形状を復元し,より鮮明なコピー画像を生成する. 連続画像からの3次元物体の形状復元および認識に関する研究:カメラを動かしながら連続的に撮影した画像を用いて,3次元物体の形状復元と認識を行う.ロボットの人工視覚機能を実現することを目指す.)
