(Summary) In the paper, we present numerical experiments for investigation of a property of functions.Especially, we focus on the smoothness.Two kinds of methods are used in numerical experiments.One is the interpolation and the other is the Cauchy problem for the Laplace operator.Numerical experiments are performed by using the spectral collocation method and a multiple-precision arithmetic.Numerical results show the possibility of the numerical computation for the distinction between smooth functions and analytic functions. 4.	Hitoshi Imai and Hideo Sakaguchi : Numerical Simulation on Local Solutions Partial Differential Equations, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Japan, Vol.61, 185-193, 2012. (Summary) We present a simple numerical simulation on local solutions of partial differential equations. It is enabled by using IPNS(Infinite-Precision Numerical Simulation). The equation solved here is the Laplace equation. The behaviors of numerical solutions are different corresponding to the existence or nonexistence of the solution. The numerical method used here is not restricted to the Laplace equation. So, our results may be useful for the theoretical proof on the existence or nonexistence of the solution of partial differential equations. 7.	Hitoshi Imai, Hideo Sakaguchi and 磯祐介 : On Numerical Computation of the Toricomi Equation, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics Japan, Vol.59, 359-372, 2010. (Summary) The Tricomi equation is solved numerically. Boundary value problems (BVPs) and ill-posed Cauchy problems (CPs) are considered. Problems are discretized by using the finite difference method (FDM) or the spectral collocation method (SCM). The numerical computation is carried out in the multiple-precision arithmetic. For BVPs both FDM and SCM work well. When the exact solution is a part of a global and analytic function accuracy of numerical results are expectable. They show that the maximum principle does not hold here. Some other BVPs are solved and numerical results are satisfactory. For CPs SCM works well but FDM does not. When the exact solution is a part of a global and analytic function accuracy of numerical results by SCM is expectable. Some other CPs are solved by SCM. Numerical results suggest that there exist some delicate problems as nonexsistence of the solution. They also show the effectiveness of SCM with the multiple-precision arithmetic in the numerical simulation for delicate problems. (Summary) 本論文は，離散化手法であるスペクトル選点法の先端的な応用例をいくつか紹介した．その中でも，特に，直接的な数値計算ができない例として辞典などでとりあげられているFredholm型の積分方程式に対して，スペクトル選点法用いた直接的数値計算法を提案した．実際の数値計算では，多倍長演算を併用して，直接的な数値計算が確かにできていることを示した．スペクトル選点法は任意次数の離散化手法であり，これと多倍長演算を併用する手法は，我々が番号42の論文で名付けた「無限精度数値シミュレーション」そのものである．すなわち，無限精度数値シミュレーションによって，いままで不可能と思われてきたFredholm型の積分方程式の直接数値計算を可能にした．
12.	Hitoshi Imai and Hideo Sakaguchi : Numerical Computation on Continuation of the Solution for the One-Dimensional Heat Equation, 日本応用数理学会論文誌, Vol.17, No.4, 481-493, 2007. (Summary) We consider a problem governed by the simple one-dimensional heat equation. In our problem two parameters are introduced. One is for the determination of the initial boundary value problem, the continuation problem or the initial value problem. Another one is for analiticity. Numerical simulations are carried out by using two different numerical methods(FDM&oplus;EE and IPNS). Numerical results are interesting as follows: Both methods give similar results converging to the smooth solution for the initial value problem which has non-uniqueness of the solution. (Summary) In the paper an inverse problem for the heat equation is simulated directly and globaly. The bounding transform is used for avoiding unboundedness of the domain and the solution. A parameter is introduced for avoiding the difficulty in numerical computation which arise from the discontinuity. Moreover, it is useful for investigation of the growth rate. (Summary) A new method for the direct numerical computation of integral equations of the first kind, of which the integral kernels are analytic, is proposed. The basic idea of the method is based on combination of the spectral collocation method and the multiple precision computation. It gives good numerical results for the equations as far as we don't admit observation errors in the given inhomogeneous terms, and the results implies possibility of numerical analytic continuation on the multiple precision arithmetic. A new accurate rule for numerical integration is also introduced. (Summary) 本論文は，無限精度数値計算手法を典型的な逆問題である楕円型作用素のコーシー問題に適用したものである．楕円型作用素のコーシー問題では，初期条件のわずかな違いによって解析解の存在，非存在が変わってくるが，無限精度数値計算手法を用いて様々な精度での数値計算を行い，数値解の収束を見ることで解析解が存在しているかどうかの判断ができることを示した．なお，同じ問題に対して差分法を用いて数値計算を行ったところ，数値解がほとんど収束せず，数値計算を満足に実行できないことも示した．
23.	Hitoshi Imai : 応用解析における多倍長計算, 数学, Vol.55, No.3, 316-325, 2003. (Summary) 本論文は，現在の数値計算の限界を示し，その限界を打ち破る最先端の数値計算手法を紹介した．まず，限界を示す例としては，単純な2次関数のグラフと応用問題のプラズマ平衡に関する逆問題をとりあげた．現在の標準的な数値計算では，2次関数のグラフはガタガタし，逆問題の数値解は激しく振動して数値計算が役に立たない．この様子を数値例をあげて紹介した．このような不都合は，丸め誤差と打ち切り誤差からなる数値誤差によって生じる．これらの誤差の内容を具体的に説明し，それらを任意に小さくする手法を紹介した．丸め誤差を任意に小さくするのが多倍長演算であり，打ち切り誤差を任意に小さくするのが任意次数の離散化手法である． 2次関数のグラフは多倍長演算だけでなめらかにすることができた．逆問題に関しては，最初とりあげた例ではなく，直接的な数値計算ができない例として辞典などでとりあげられているFredholm型の積分方程式をとりあげた．この問題に対して，多倍長演算と任意次数の離散化手法(スペクトル法)を併用して初めて，直接的な数値計算が可能になることを紹介した．実は，多倍長演算と任意次数の離散化手法を併用する数値計算法は，我々が「無限精度数値シミュレーション」と名付けた手法である． (Link to Publication Site) ● Publication site (DOI): 10.11429/sugaku1947.55.316 (Link to Search Site for Scientific Articles) ● CiNii @ National Institute of Informatics (CRID): 1390001205065565696 ● Search Scopus @ Elsevier (DOI): 10.11429/sugaku1947.55.316 (DOI: 10.11429/sugaku1947.55.316, CiNii: 1390001205065565696)

(Summary) 本論文は，無限精度数値計算手法を実際問題である数理ファイナンスに現れるアメリカン·プット·オプションの価格が従う偏微分方程式に適用したものである．なお，この偏微分方程式は自由境界問となる．本論文では，Black-Scholes偏微分方程式の自由境界問題の枠組みに，無限精度数値計算手法を適用した結果，定式化において現れる満期状態での適合条件の不連続生を連続になるように補正すれば，うまく数値計算を実行することができることがわかった．

(Summary) 本論文は，数値誤差を任意に小さくできる「無限精度数値シミュレーション法」を開発した．数値計算結果が信頼できるかどうかは，精度保証計算を行っていれば疑いようもないが，精度保証計算は適用範囲がきわめて限られているので実用問題では経験的手法に頼るしかない．この経験的手法とは，計算精度を高めていったときに数値解の振舞いが収束しているかどうかで信頼性を判断するというものである．この経験的手法は非常に実用的であるが，この手法で信頼性が判定できないことがある．それは，計算精度を変えてえられた数値解の列が収束しないときである．これは数値誤差に敏感である逆問題ではよく起こる．この場合の問題点は，既存の手法では計算精度を極端に変えられないので，十分な数値解の列が得られないことにある．この間題点を解決したのが本論文である．数値誤差は打切り誤差と丸め誤差から成り立っている．打切り誤差を任意に小さくするスペクトル法と丸め誤差を任意に小さくする多倍長演算を併用した「無限精度数値シミュレーション法」を開発した．数値実験によって，本手法は数値誤差を任意に小さくできることを確認した．その精度はすさまじく，1次元の微分方程式の数値計算が，いままでの100倍以上の精度で実行できた．

(Summary) 本論文は，2相Stefan問題の自由境界の挙動をより現実的にシミュレートするためのモデルを提案した．より現実的なシミュレートには，凝固時の密度変化に伴う体積変化と，この体積変化に伴う自由境界と固定境界の接触点の移動を考慮する必要がある．体積変化のモデルは番号5の論文で提案した．接触点の移動に関してはYoung条件を拡張したモデルを提案したが，このモデルでは流体が容器からあふれるような状況をシミュレートできなかった．そこで，本論文では，接触点の移動に関して，緩和時間を導入して以前のモデルを修正した．このモデルによって，凝固に伴って流体追いやられて容器からあふれようとする際の，表面張力によって流体が盛り上がるシミュレーションが可能になった．

Various degree of wavelets are tested for a simple spiral line to check the fundamental properties of the transform. Then they are applied to data of a shoreline. (Summary) 本論文は，簡約化磁気ベナール方程式に現れるアトラクターの収束性を解析したものである．簡約化磁気ベナール方程式はローレンツ方程式の最小拡張となっていて，磁場の強さを表すパラメータQを含んでいる． Q=0のときの解曲線はローレンツ方程式のそれと一致する．本論文では，簡約化磁気ベナール方程式の解曲線のQ→0の時の様子を調べる． Q→0のとき，簡約化磁気ベナール方程式のアトラクターがローレンツ方程式のアトラクターにハウスドルフの意味で上半連続的に収束することが解析的に証明できた．一方，数値計算では，収束は上半連続的ではあるが，連続的ではないという興味深いものが得られた．

(Summary) The two-dimensional periodic Bcnard convection with a deformable free surface is simulated by a spectral method developed tere. Bifurcation phenomena between the static flow and the steady convection rolls are analyzed here. Our aim is to study the effect of a free surface and its surface tension in the Benard convection in comparison with the convection with a rigid surface. Numerical results reveal that when the Rayleigh number is larger than the critical Rayleigh number there exists a steady solution of convection rolls with a curved free surface. The value of the critical Rayleigh number for the convection with a free surface is smaller than that for the convection with a rigid surface. Furthermore, the investigations of the critical Rayleigh number by a linear stability theory support these results. (Summary) 本論文では，軸対称円筒系のゲルが縮小するときに起こる分岐現象に対して，著者がすでに提案した数理モデルを改良した数理モデルを提案した．また，定常解に対する安定性解析を行い，安定流域を求めた．さらに，分岐現象に関する数値シミュレーションを行い，その妥当性を示した．数値シミュレーションでは，差分法を使って軸方向に周期境界条件を課した発展方程式を解いた結果，実際の分岐現象で見られる収縮パターンが現れることを確認した．

(Summary) 本論文は，1次元1相Stefan問題で，熱伝導方程式の非線形項がsuperlinearの場合の解の様子を，理論的·数値的に調べたものである．とくに，解が最大値をとる場所を特定できないため解析が難しい， Dirichlet境界条件の場合をとりあげた．また，初期条件としては一山であるような簡単なものだけを考えた．理論解析では，解の存在時間が有界であると仮定すると，自由境界は有限でかつ解が一点で爆発する，もしくは，自由境界が爆発してかつ解が有界であるかのどちらかが成立することを証明した．数値計算では，初期条件が大きいと数値解は爆発し，逆に初期条件が小さいと数値解は0に収束するという結果が得られた．すなわち，理論解析の後者の場合は起こりそうもないことが示唆された． (愛木氏の話では，最近，Picardie Jules Verne 大学のP. Souplet 教授が， superlinearの場合の解析を完成させたらしい．)
